Pastor Stanley Dixon

Assistant to the President for Western New York

Our theme is Time is Running Out…On Time Mission for an End Time Church. God has given the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Western New York (WNY) a Mission to complete. Each day that passes brings us closer to the end. Since time is short, how should the urgency of living in the final days of history impact our evangelistic witness? Time is running out to make wrongs right or forgive a family member. Time is running out to impact our young people for Christ. Time is running out to reach our lost neighbors.

Given our theme, Elder Dick Baron, former Associate Youth Director of the General Conference will be our main speaker. Pastor Jim Howard, Associate Director of Sabbath School and Personal Ministries of the General Conference will be our morning and afternoon seminar speaker. Together they help us achieve our vision for this year's convocation.

We have included a youth based outreach endeavor called The Amazing Race where the youth of Western New York churches, instead of sitting and being entertained in the afternoon, will utilize their energy and vitality to impact the Rochester community. This will be hosted by key WNY Pastors and the WNY Youth Federation leadership team. We will spotlight also the various outreach and evangelistic endeavors conducted this year including results of the medical missionary training. Moreover, we will welcome the Triangle 3 Angels Company to our area.

We look forward to these special seasons of spiritual enrichment and fellowship with our sister churches so that both youth and adults may be refreshed and empowered for mission in the WNY area. We also appreciate the presence of our conference administrators joining us as we celebrate what God has done in areas of personal and public evangelism as we look forward to the future.

The Amazing Race

Get Ready to Go!

On your mark, get set, go! You're off for the adventure of a lifetime. This is going to be the best afternoon you've spent in a long time. You'll learn, have fun, and be good citizens of Rochester, but more importantly of God's Kingdom.

Question: Is it necessary to physically run to participate in the race?
Answer: No, but the enthusiasm you generate will make you feel like each step is a supersized leap.

Question: Who will I meet?
Answer: Famous TV personalities won't be there; however, you will encounter some other persons who did some pretty spectacular things --- can't say more, it's a secret.

Question: Why should I get involved?
Answer: The Amazing Race provides something to think about and a reason to be thankful. It brings a whole new level of energy and inspiration to life! At least that's what we hope, but there are so many more nuances of the race and things for you to discover. Let's meet there!

Now like never before we must...
• Warn God’s people of judgment to come
• Address the godlessness of people of our day
• Share the love of Christ
• Spread the gospel and tell of a loving God who seeks to save all
• Do more to reach out to the world with an evangelistic fervor
• Testify as in Jeremiah 8:20, NKJV

How to Share the Gospel
Start with the people you know. When you show yourself to be a sincere Christian, people are naturally drawn to you. They will be more likely to listen to you and accept an invitation to hear more about the God you serve. Start with your:
• Family
• Friends
• Co-Workers
• Neighbors
BUT always seek the Guidance of the Holy Spirit on what to say and the best method of sharing Jesus with everyone you encounter.

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:9, 13 KJV).
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast" (Ephesians 2:8,9).
"And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment" (Hebrews 9:27).
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).
"For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not”(Ecclesiastes 7:20,KJV).
“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).
"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 14:6).
Gospel Comission
"And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come" (Matthew 24:14, KJV).
